Google Gets In With Goats!

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009

PhotobucketGoogle is always looking for innovative ways to reduce their environmental impact on the world. In fact, their internal motto is “don’t do evil”! Now they’ve taken that motto to a new extreme.

Outside of their Mountain View headquarters, Google had fields of weeds and brush that could present fire hazards. Rather than mowing those lawns, they chose a low-carbon approach: they rented goats from a company called, California Grazing (no, we aren’t clever enough to make this one up)!

Forget noisy lawnmowers that pollute the air and guzzle gas, goats will mow and fertilize Google’s Mountain View lawns… lowering their total carbon emissions without increasing their expenses.

Watch out John Deer… goats are here to stay!

Girl Scouts

Girl Scout Cookies aren’t just an American staple; they are thefeatured product in an entrepreneurial program that funds the entire Girl Scouts of America program! Lucky for us because those cookies are bomb.com!

Founded in 1812, the Girl Scouts of America help instill character, confidence, leadership and other important qualities that have nurtured tens of million of girls across America. But none of this would be possible without the cookies… which currently fund 3.7 million active Girl Scouts.

So let’s give a huge shout out to an organization with an innovate business model to support a wonderful mission. Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs… we never have to think of them the same way again!
